For those of you who are waiting on your Easter cards...please be patient!!!
Easter, like most things, snuck up on us and we are still trying to get a good picture to send out. We've tried for 2 days now and haven't gotten much. Third times a charm (I hope!!!).
Sunday was a gorgeous day here, but for some reason we decided to wait until Monday to take our pictures. BIG mistake. Monday was completely cloudy and we ended up chasing the sun and running from the rain. The ground was extra mushy, so our buckets came in very handy!
First stop, the Texas Blue Bonnets. These could have been perfect pictures!!!
Daddy Setting Up
The babies thought the flowers were for eating
Our hope was for all to sit in their buckets. This was not easy!
Lauren had the hardest time staying put
And once we got her down, the boys would jump up!
They all tried to leave at one point or another
One of our MAJOR issues was that two particular boys decided not to nap that afternoon.
Even he regrets that decision!
I realize that it is probably impossible to get all three to look up at the same time and smile (even with the best attention getters) but it shouldn't be this hard to get at least a pleasant look out of someone.
It was pretty clear that this just wasn't going to be our day, so we packed up and headed home.
This afternoon I decided to try again, this time just in our back yard.
I tried to bride the babies with puffs. It kept them from crying but it also kept them from looking up.
It was another mostly cloudy day and the babies needed a change of scenery so I took them over to Granny and Grandpa's to snap some pictures in their backyard. Still didn't get what I was looking for.
So we're taking the day off tomorrow and waiting for Thursday (the weather is supposed to be really nice) and hopefully our third try will give us the perfect picture!!! If all goes as planned (which it won't), we'll get the picture on Thursday and cards made Thursday night. Then I can get them in the mail on Friday and some of you may get yours on Saturday, making it just in time for Easter. Realistically though, don't expect anything until next week!!!

Love this post! When I tried to get christmas photos with my two girls I ended up in tears, so looks like you're doing better! Your kids are so cute!
ReplyDeleteBrush up on Photoshop!
ReplyDeleteThat does look like hard work!! Those buckets are SO cute, but the kids are even cuter!!
ReplyDeleteI think the ones of them all climbing out show their true personalities :) I'd go with those for your Easter cards. I think you do a pretty dang good job with even getting the cards out for all the holidays that you do regardless of if they are late or not :) I hope I can do as good of a job as you are doing!
ReplyDeleteI know this sounds weird, but right before you take the pictures, sit them all down and put a little syrup in their mouths. The thick, sugar taste will keep them stunned and still long enough to snap a few pictures. You might not get them to all smile, but at least they'll be still to grab a shot. Someone told me this and it worked for Cody. Food is too hard because it gives them something to hold and play with which takes their attention away. Hope this helps. No matter what you do, it will look cute, it always does.
ReplyDeleteI will take any of the pictures as my card!!
ReplyDeleteYou guys come up with some of the best ideas for photos!!! Oh I wish I was on your easter card list! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if this will work to keep all their attention, but it seems to work for Hunter - I start singing him his favorite song (and if that doesn't get his attention, I sing it LOUDER. lol)
I think all of those are so cute!! They just made me smile!!
