Early Voting and Pumpkin Carving

Today the babies fulfilled their civic duty for the 1st time!

When we pulled into the parking lot to vote and saw the line way out the door, we detoured and made a quick stop to Chic Fil A (or as the trio calls it Chic A Lay) . I knew nuggets would keep them occupied for a while!

Waiting in line to vote. (Lathan kept telling me he wanted to see the BOAT. I tried to explain to him that we were there to VOTE and that there would be no boat. Then he kept asking to see the vote...not much to see since its a verb but that didn't register with him. Then I asked him who I should vote for - he thought for a second and then told me French Fries. I'm guessing that was a write in!)

Yeah McCain!!!

When we got home we carved our pumpkins...

The curtain was open for the mom's to watch Lauren's ballet class this week.

Lathan's Accident

Poor Lathan had an accident while we were grocery shopping tonight. He took a big fall and hit his head REALLY hard on the concrete...it took him a long time to catch his breath and immediately his head boo boo started turning purple. Patrick and I didn't like the way he was acting - he was very clammy and his face was white as a ghost so we ditched out shopping basket and took off for the ER.

He was acting much better by the time we got there but we stayed just in case. With his history of brain injury (bilateral brain bleeds that at last check were resolving but leaving cysts behind) they went ahead and ordered a CAT scan. I wasn't able to go with him (booooo) because of the pregnancy but Patrick stayed with him the entire time and said he was PERFECT! Lathan came back to the room grinning from ear to ear with 3 stickers and a big story about the donut that took his picture!

Lathan is fine. His tests showed nothing abnormal - he'll probably just have a nice knot on his head and a bit of a headache!

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU Grammie and Aunt Pammie for picking up Lauren and Logan and letting Patrick and I give Lathan all of our attention (and for the camera, the Toys R Us run (Lathan took the puppy in with him for the scan!!) AND the animal cookies)! You saved the day!

Fun filled day

After ballet, we met Avery and Nat, Hallie and Ashley, up at Brooklyn Bagel for some breakfast/lunch. We played and visited for a long time and waited even longer for a break in the rain so that we could run to our cars. Just as we thought there might be a clearing, we walked out the door and it started pouring again. We figured we had bugged the patrons of the restaurant long enough so we decided to just play in the rain!

At first the trio stood just on the edge of dryness and getting completely drenched. It was only a matter of seconds though before the boys lost control and went for it!
