Christmas Eve Part 2

After spending the afternoon with Granny and Grandpa we went to Grammie's house for a quick bowl of potato soup before we went to church.

Grammie and her Grandbabies

After church, we came back to our house and opened some more presents. Grammie gave the kids matching pj's (footed blanket sleepers of course!) and then we let the kids each open their presents from each other. Earlier that week, the kids had gone one by one through the Target dollar bins and got to pick out something for their siblings. They wrapped the gifts themselves and were very excited to give their gifts. We (the grownups) got a kick out of watching the kids open their prizes. Poor Logan really thought out his gifts and "shopped" for just the right things (a bib for London, a slinky for Lathan and a princess bracelet for Lauren) but that thoughtfulness and logic wasn't necessarily reciprocated! Lauren got him a notebook, which was fine...it had Lighting McQueen on the front. However, Lathan gave Logan a piece to a train! Not the engine, not that caboose...just the middle car that didn't connect to anything! I had even shown Lathan some good choices for Loggie but he insisted that Logan would want the train piece so that's what he got!

Logan asked for a skateboard and I think that's what he thought he would be opening when we got home from church. Instead he opened jammies, a tiny spiral notebook and a piece to a train. It was hard not to laugh!

(This video is LONG! Its dark in the beginning but the lights get turned on not too far into it. Probably had to be there to catch the real humor!)
