Emmy's in town! She came with her Momma on Wednesday to help out and visit and we've had so much fun. I haven't uploaded my pictures yet (this is one from our visit to Stephenville) but its just a little preview of what we've been up to these past few days! She's such a big girl and blends right in with the trio!!!

One Year Ago Today...

July 11, 2006 - The Day the Fun Really Began!

Logan came home (and this time he stayed!) Finally we were a real family!

I can't believe that it has ONLY been one year. It really is hard to imagine life before our trio. Gosh I love them!!!

First of all...just added some new designs to Missy Moo's, check them out when you get a second!

Now on to the babies...

FINALLY some sun!

Yesterday we took the babies out back for a little swim in the baby pool

Logan

Lauren

They had so much fun and since the sun was out again today,
we went for a repeat.

The boys especially LOVE the water!

Logan spraying Lathan

Logan with the hose

A few times he sprayed himself!!

I wish I would have had my video camera outside. Lathan belly laughed pretty much the entire time we were out there!

The boys being silly and poor Lauren is stuck in the middle!

We took a break for a snack (bagels)

and then later tried out our new beach chairs (with popcicles of course!)

Lauren's got her beach attitude down...totally relaxed!

Logan and his pointer

After two rounds of popcicles, the boys returned to the water hose

Lathan didn't mind Logan spraying him in the face, in fact he seemed to like it!

Lauren sat on the sideline and cheered them on!

Logan continued to spray Lathan

UNTIL...Lathan got control. It quickly became payback time!

Logan surrenduring!

Notice Lauren in the back...Smart Girl!

I LOVE how much they love the water. It is so much fun to watch them play. And I'm pretty sure Lathan may be the next Michael Phelps. Look out 2024...my boy can swim!!!

On June 25th we met up with an old friend of mine, Leah Chitty (its Cook now!), who does photography. We had planned on taking some outdoor pictures at our family friends, The Pool's. They have the most gorgeous yard (front and back), with all kinds of bright flowers, perfect for photos. Unfortunately it was another soggy day in Houston so we had to move the party inside (good thing their house is perfect and gorgeous on the inside too!)

I thought the babies did an ok job. They weren't in their best moods but Leah still managed to get some really neat pictures. Here are some of my favorites (all of course courtesy of Leah)...

The rain let up for a little while so we took the babies out front and gave them a bag of Oreos...

He got a little bit messy!!!

We think you did a great job Leah...THANK YOU! And if any of you ever need a photographer, Leah currently lives in Dallas but has family here in town. Maybe you could catch her on a visit like we did!

Make sure to visit her website Life's Little Images
Well this year's fourth of July sure was better than last!

July 4, 2006 is the day that we had to give Logan back to the NICU. He had only been home for 3 days but his projectile vomiting had become continuous and he was no longer wetting diapers. By the time we got him back to the hospital he had already lost over a pound (which was HUGE considering he considering he only weighed 6lbs at the time) and didn't even look like himself. He was immediately hooked back up to all kinds of pumps and IV's and would later be diagnosed with Pyloric Stenosis. It took 2 days to get him stable enough for surgery and then on the 6th they went in to repair the stenosis and to repair 3 hernias.

Here he is getting checked back in to the NICU, poor baby...

THIS July 4th, we hung out together as a family, marched in a parade, had lunch at Granny & Grandpa's and then went to a festival and fireworks at night. We had so much fun!!!

No More #4

There will be a #4 (and maybe even a #5 if I get my way!) somewhere down the road but not now.

We had our first doctor's appointment since finding out we were pregnant 3 weeks ago and didn't get the news we were hoping for. The ultrasound showed that everything was progressing perfectly up until 6 weeks 4 days, but then stopped (we should be at least 10 + weeks along). My body is still producing the hormones that make it think its pregnant but the baby can't be seen. This happended to us back in '05 and we were told that it "rarely" happens to the same person more than once. Lucky us!

We can't be too upset though, we often fall into the lower/not as likely side of statistics but that's also how we got our triplets!

The downside of our luck...

* Infertility affects about about ten percent of the reproductive-age population...that was us!

* A blighted ovum (our diagnosis) is often a one time occurrence, and rarely will a woman experience more than one.

On the other hand...

* There is only an 18% chance of spontaneous conception after IVF treatment. It may not have worked out for us this time but we know we'll join this group again soon.

* Odds of conceiving triplets...I couldn't find the exact number but trust me we got lucky!

And we defied to odds way too many times to count with our triplet pregnancy & preemie little ones.

So its sucks for now but I'm sure there's a perfectly good reason why it didn't work out.

I have one more ultrasound next week just to make sure and then will have a D&C on Wednesday.

4th of July Cards

There's actually a very good chance that some of you (especially locals) will receive your 4th of July Holiday cards BEFORE the actual 4th of July! This is pretty impressive considering we've missed the past few holidays AND I didn't get this card's photo taken until late this past Sunday. I was at the post office addressing and stamping envelopes right up until closing and managed to get them all finished and on their way. Its the little things you know!!!!
